El movimiento de un cuerpo está descrito por la equación horaria

\[ \begin{gather} S=-10+4 t \end{gather} \]

donde la posición se mide en kilómetros y el tiempo en horas. Determinar:
a) La posición inicial;
b) La velocidad;
c) El instante en que el cuerpo pasa por el origen;
d) La posición del cuerpo en el instante 4 h.

Solución:

La ecuación horaria que describe un Movimiento Rectilíneo Uniforme (MRU) está dada por

\[ \begin{gather} \bbox[background:#99CCFF; padding:10px; border-radius:10px;] {S=S_0+vt} \end{gather} \]

haciendo las siguientes asociaciones

\[ \begin{array}{c} S & = & S_0 & + & v & t \\ & & \downarrow & & \downarrow & \\ S & = & -10 & + & 4 & t \end{array} \]

a) Posición inicial del cuerpo

\[ \begin{gather} \bbox[background:#FFCCCC; padding:10px; border-radius:10px;] {S_0=-10\;\mathrm{km}} \end{gather} \]

b) Velocidad del cuerpo

\[ \begin{gather} \bbox[background:#FFCCCC; padding:10px; border-radius:10px;] {v=4\;\mathrm{km/h}} \end{gather} \]

c) Cuando el cuerpo pasa por el origen del sistema tenemos S = 0, sustituyendo este valor en la función dada

\[ \begin{gather} 0=-10+4t \\[5pt] 4t=10 \\[5pt] t=\frac{10}{4} \end{gather} \]
\[ \begin{gather} \bbox[background:#FFCCCC; padding:10px; border-radius:10px;] {t=2,5\;\mathrm h} \end{gather} \]

d) Para t = 4 h, la posición será

\[ \begin{gather} S=-10+4\times 4 \\[5pt] S=-10+16 \end{gather} \]
\[ \begin{gather} \bbox[background:#FFCCCC; padding:10px; border-radius:10px;] {S=6\;\mathrm{km}} \end{gather} \]
